Good Sunday Morning! In light of the recent tragedy in CT Friday, I cannot write a post without getting a bit pensive. It is such an extreme travesty that so many innocent people lost their lives. My prayers & heavy thoughts go out to the folks affected. I have thought back countless times over the past few days of my 6-year old nephew who is in kindergarten this year & both of my parents who are teachers. To think that any of them could be a victim of something so senseless brings tears to my eyes. I am beyond grateful that as I type this my family is safe & sound. Friday before any of this began, I mentioned “Focussing on the Good” & it’s news like this that forces me to think about all I have been blessed with in this life. The family mentioned being one of the things I’m most thankful for in this life. They love & support without judgement & ask nothing in return, I could not ask for more.
I am truly thankful also for my amazing friends, some of whom I got to spend an epically fun Friday night with for the 1st Annual a Holiday Party. Thanks to Andi for hosting, Todd for “Top Cheffing” it & to everyone else for bringing tasty food, drinks & all around awesomeness. I didn’t snap too many pics as we were all busy raising glasses & having snacks, in-between quite a few rounds of slightly tipsy Catchphrase. It was all around a perfect night & hoping for it to be an annual tradition

I am thankful for 8-hours of sleep Friday in a warm bed & for waking-up Saturday morning safe, rested & with enough energy to workout. I am thankful for my body which continuously allows me to push it in order to reap the benefits of exercise. I am thankful I finally began “The Happiness Project” while biking yesterday morning. I’ve had this on my list for awhile & am excited to begin it now at a time when there is so much sadness in the world.

I am thankful for our Christmas tree which is decorated & now has plenty of wrapped presents under it. I’m also thankful for Jon & for the time we spent lounging on the couch Saturday & for our “date” Saturday evening. Dinner at Stir Crazy & the SkyFall movie.

This morning I’m thankful for having another day to spend with those I love & for the baby shower planned for my sister-in-law’s sister later today, celebrating a new life on the horizon is always something to be happy about. As is cake
I hope that you can find some happiness & thankfulness despite Friday’s events.
