Yes, I’m starting my “Staycation” today…after working for 10 days straight the
warden higher-ups finally said “take a few days off” — ENTER my 4 day weekend! Time to catch-up on life, see family & friends & just relax & enjoy being at home. Happy Friday to everyone! A co-worker posted this on Twitter yesterday & it was cracking me up —

Wednesday night I started the catch-up game by meeting some ladies for drinks & dinner at Ruths Chris for Wine Down Wednesday. It was a pretty low-key evening with lots of laughs, some much needed vino & a little live music. One of the funniest things, the busser telling us in much detail about his date at the Haunted House. Apparently the date went so well that now she
is now stalking him won’t leave him alone & he’s having to dodge her — just proof that love can happen anywhere folks!
Thursday morning I was in a “Get This Workout Dunzo” kind of mood so decided to up the ante & hit some Tabata’s. I tossed in an extra 2 round to make them 10 rounds — not only do I prefer EVEN #’s, I also like multiples of 5 — which had me sweating by midway through the 1st tabata stretch.
The weather here has been
a hot mess strange this week & Thursday afternoon it was 80 degrees. After lunch I wanted something sweet so crafted a Peppermint Mocha over ice to power me thourhg my 10th & final day of work. Here’s what I used —
Right at 5pm Thursday — of course when I’m leaving work — the sky opened up & the temps dropped about 20 degrees, Fall entered with a bang! Once home & dry I whipped up a stir fry for dinner & then felt like baking since it sounded “cozy”. Tina from Carrots N’ Cake featured these Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies the other day & while mine looked nothing like the ones in the recipe, they still tasted pretty good!
This morning I still got up early & headed to the gym, I wanted to get the day started early! I have no idea really what workout I did, I just kept throwing in random strength sets sprinkled with 5 min. elliptical bouts. It ended up being just over an hour & felt pretty good. One last article for the day, with Halloween next week, treats are on the horizon! Anytime Health’s “Give This Not That [Halloween Candy Edition]” will spark your creativity when it comes to healthier treats! Although I will say, when I was a kid the people who gave stuff like toothpaste & nickels rather than candy pissed me off royally
