Maybe, just maybe I am recovered from the 10-day workweek sprinkled with 16-hour days & a trip to Los Angeles. And if I’m not recovered, then I’m doing my darndest to get my shit it together after such a busy couple of weeks!
Wednesday morning I did the “Spri Situation” workout in the hotel gym before getting the hell out of dodge boarding my flight home. I was planning to drift blissfully into sleep on the 4-hour flight—that was not the case with all the loudmouth’s around me. Thanks guys! After arriving home it was all I could do to not breakdown drag my suitcase upstairs, shower & lay on the couch for the remainder of the day! It feels SO AMAZING to be home after being tired & worn out! Luckily Jon was just as tired from a long day outside at work so we grabbed a quick dinner at Pasta House & posted up in front of the tv for the rest of the night watching Breaking Bad…new obsession….watch.it.now!
Thursday I leisurely awoke after an 11-hours of sleep, I felt slightly human again. I honestly feel like I returned from battle after this trip—it’s our largest & most shitshow stressful meeting every year—so making it through is a miracle in itself! My friend & co-worker Susan over at Run, Susan, Run sent me this the other day & I’m certain it accurately reflects the way we all feel after this trip!
So Thursday since there were no Buick’s around to bench press, I headed to the gym for some cardio. I opted for the elliptical & did this workout from PB Fingers in an effort to get my heart pumping & catch-catch up on celeb gossip mags—DUH!
It was amazing to get home post-workout Thursday & dick mess around the house all morning. After the necessary Trader Joe’s, dry-cleaners, library, & bank runs & laundry, I got to lounge for part of the day. It was SO NICE to make a healthy lunch! Massive salad the size of my head anyone???
Thursday afternoon my lovely Mama treated us both to a mani/pedi & it was an absolute necessity to catch-up with her & be pampered for a bit & I’m pretty certain the man doing my hooves cringed a tad!
I was still basking in the “being able to cook at home” glow & whipped up a simple but yum dinner Thursday night. On the menu—baked chicken with garlic, lemon & basil, baked sweet potatoes & steamed green beans with olive oil.
I had rescheduled my typical “Trainer Time Monday” to this morning since I was gone so we knocked this out …tough stuff!
I kid you not I felt like an 80′s workout queen with those ankle weights strapped to my legs & they sure made that last set TOUGH!
Today has been spent lounging (i.e. still recovering), napping, reading, & attempting to back these insane chocolate peanut butter cupcakes without eating them all in the process. This is what my kitchen is looking like;
This is what these lil’ suckers are supposed to turn out looking like;
Ummmm, yea, wish me luck on that situation! Hope you all are having a fabulous Friday! I’m off to lunch with a friend outside & continue the “recovery” process
What do you do to “recover” from a long, stressful trip? Ever worked out with ankle weights?

This makes me want cupcakes so bad!
